Project Launch Community Meeting
On August 2nd, the Onward Kissimmee Project Launch Community Meeting took place at the Kissimmee Civic Center. The event featured four interactive stations where attendees could engage in various activities. Participants had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their stories, fill out comment cards noting what they love about the city and what they would like to see changed, and mark on maps the places they live, work, and visit. Additionally, they could identify locations in the city they believe have potential for improvement and growth. In total, 24 participants contributed their insights and feedback on the Land Use and Mobility plan.
El 2 de agosto se llevó a cabo la reunión comunitaria de lanzamiento del Proyecto Onward Kissimmee en el Centro Cívico de Kissimmee.Con un total de cuatro estaciones para que los participantes completaran, el equipo pudo recopilar información y comentarios de residentes, trabajadores y propietarios de negocios. Las estaciones comenzaron con los participantes presentándose y compartiendo su historia personal, seguidas de tarjetas de comentarios sobre lo que les gusta y lo que cambiarían en la ciudad.También había un mapa que mostraba los lugares donde viven, trabajan y frecuentan, y, por último, un mapa para marcar las ubicaciones en la ciudad que consideran que tienen oportunidades de mejora y crecimiento. En total, 24 participantes compartieron sus historias y pensamientos sobre el plan de Uso de la Tierra y Movilidad.
Mobile Tour Summary
On August 23rd the City hosted two bus tours in support of the Onward Kissimmee Project’s public engagement efforts. Braving the Florida heat and humidity, the enthusiastic participants met at the Kissimmee City Hall and headed out for an on-site review of key locations around the City. Over the eight stops and points of interest, the City’s project team collected comments and insights from participants regarding land use, mobility plan, and much more. The eight points of interest visited included: Oak Street Park Community Center, Central Avenue, Kissimmee Trail, Mill Run, Valencia College Osceola Campus, NeoCity, Lake Tohopekaliga, and the SunRail Station.
El 23 de agosto, la ciudad organizó dos excursiones en autobús para apoyar los esfuerzos de participación pública del proyecto Onward Kissimmee. Desafiando el calor y la humedad de Florida, los participantes se reunieron en el Ayuntamiento de Kissimmee y se dirigieron a una revisión in situ de lugares clave de la ciudad. A lo largo de las ocho paradas y puntos de interés, el equipo del proyecto de la ciudad recogió comentarios y opiniones de los participantes sobre el uso del suelo, el plan de movilidad y mucho más. Los ocho puntos de interés visitados incluyeron: Oak Street Park Community Center, Central Avenue, Kissimmee Trail, Mill Run, Valencia College Osceola Campus, NeoCity, Lake Tohopekaliga y la estación de SunRail.
